I met Carl Lewis at a track meet

I was teaching high school in Pasadena, Texas in the mid-80s, and as a big track fan, was delighted to hear that there would be a meet at the University of Houston with some big track names. It turned out that it was a meet that appeared to exist merely to get some famous local track athletes qualifying times and distances for the World Championships. I saw Kirk Baptiste run the 100 meters and Carol Lewis do the long jump. Carl Lewis was there in his red Porsche to watch is sister. He was very approachable, and I asked for a picture. We chatted about his Olympics in 1984, and then he was on is way. He was the the epitome of cool in a quality track suit and a Porsche Turbo Carerra. It was an honor to meet him. A legend.
